About Me

I am a creative. I’ve composed, produced, and released three albums. I have performed shows in New York City with the band Heroes Are Gang Leaders (2018 American Book Award for Oral Literature) and as a solo act. My music was featured in an award-winning short “Driving Force” and I’ve composed music for an animated series and a documentary film.

While at Wesleyan University, I co-founded the Black Arts Collective and hosted shows and galleries that Wesleyan awarded the Exceptional Program Award. I co-led the group R.A.W. (Rappers at Wesleyan) which hosted weekly freestyles for rappers, singers, and instrumentalists. Additionally, I was on the founding board of the student-led creative space, The Workshop, which offered high-end creative tools to students at no cost. I graduated with my undergraduate degrees in English and African American Studies in 2018 with Departmental High Honors in the African American Studies Department and the Camp Prize for Academic Achievement in the English Department.

After teaching middle school Humanities and Math for four years through the pandemic, I was accepted to Yale University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. My studies included computer modeling, designing clean energy devices, synthesis of nanomaterials, emissions, and sustainability. I earned my Master of Science in 2023. I have continued to refine my designs through sculpting, sketching, and product design. Another passion of mine is learning languages. I am conversational in French and Mandarin. I’ve been speaking French for 16 years and I’ve studied Mandarin every day for over 2 years. Learning languages allows me to appreciate other cultures and communicate with artists and engineers across the world.

Since graduating from Yale University, I have been a design consultant at an interior design firm while working on a life-sized sculpture, performing my music throughout New York City, improving my Mandarin, and teaching myself to sew.
